It is very powerful when people come together on an occasion such as this. There will be parking at the Jane-Finch Mall and after the walk, rides will be available to take you back to your car. If you use transit, then you will have one less thing to worry about. With the Finch Station at Keele and Finch, you will have easy access to both the Heart 2 Soul Fest and the Jane Finch Prayer Walk.
What is a Prayer Walk all about?
A prayer walk is all about coming together in one accord and casting your concerns with God as He cares for us. As you walk along a route, you reflect within yourself what it is that you want to pray about. It all comes from the heart. As you walk, you dig deep and whatever comes to your mind about the area, you pray for wisdom, knowledge and understanding. He will give you the words to speak.
When you look at the young lives lost from gun violence, you may wonder why these things happen. As a parent, you never want any harm to come to your child. You want to protect them from everything. But, everyone has a path or a journey that we must take. And unfortunately, you could find yourself in a place where you don’t want to be. Nothing is for certain in this life. You can make your plans and find out that your plans could fall apart at any time. Even the most perfect plan might seem perfect on the outset, but then you find that there is some drawbacks for pursuing that plan. Whatever it is, we need guidance as we go through this life which is a short time on this earth.
But, if we can pray for others… If we can pray for a community… What a blessing it would be if your one prayer made an impact on one person’s life. And that is what a prayer walk is all about. It is about having faith that your prayers will be answered even though you may not see the immediate outcome of your prayer.
