Self-Confidence Workshop
Single Workshop
Have you ever failed at something that matters to you, whether it was a job interview or a test or maybe you failed to finish a task that you promised to deliver at a certain time?
How does that sense of failure make you feel? Does it make you say, “You know what, I am going to give it another try. Or does it make you say to yourself, “you know what, that’s it. I’m done.”
If the latter describes your reaction after a failure, this training is for you. You need to learn how to be confident.
In this training, you will learn that one of the keys to success is being able to fail better. And confidence makes failing ok. It activates your will to get up, brush off and try again.
About ten years ago one of my co-workers was interviewed for a very good job in a government agency. She didn’t succeed in the interview. That same job has been posted perhaps one thousand times since her failed interview. My friend never once tried again.
Several years later, I was interviewed for a similar job at the same agency, and I succeeded. This co-worker and I remain in touch.
Would you believe that every time we speak on the phone, she talks about the one job interview which she failed at that company, the one I’m currently working for?
Workshop starts at 1:30 pm sharp.
Be sure to get a good seat in the classroom inside Cardinal McGuigan High School.
Lack of confidence puts chains of regret around you. This is why in this training we will get deep into the science of what’s happening when a smart person like you doesn’t rise to the occasion.
Briefly, when you deny yourself the chance to try again after failing, what’s at play is your arch nemesis called fear. Fear’s Role in your success is to distort the truths, the facts about you and your abilities when you face your big moments in life.
The truth is, you are gifted. You are smart. And you are talented.
And what does confidence do? Confidence simply enables you to manage your fears so that they don’t stop you from shining like the starlight that you are.

On Darin Ruddock…
Darin Ruddock is a peak performance coach specializing in leadership, motivation and self development.
For more than ten years, he has lead some of the largest not-for-profit organizations and government agencies in the city of Toronto, coaching, mentoring, training, Social Service Workers who provide food, housing, financial support, and counselling to the city’s most vulnerable men, women and children so that they can bounce back from setbacks and realize their dreams, despite their challenges in life.
Recently I caught up with Darin to know more about him, and what drives him to coach people and this is what he shared with me.
“Growing up in Jamaica I was nurtured into making life better for those in my community. I have learnt the power of kindness, and how life is meant to be lived for others, with passion and vigor.
It is my passion and love for others that gave birth to my personal mission in life, which is to, learn constantly, help others learn constantly, and help the world change exponentially”
As I got to know him more, I discovered what drives Darin to help others is his philosophy of the golden coin.
Darin sees life as a golden coin with two sides. The side that people often only see is the side that says “life is hard and mean and messed up and God hates me and my family. But most times, we don’t see the golden opportunities on the flip side of the coin. In an essence, this is what I teach people to do, how to flip the golden coin that they are holding in their hands.”
