Youth Unlimited (Toronto YFC) is a faith-based charity that believes in the unlimited potential of youth.  For over 70 years, YU (Toronto YFC) has been imparting God’s love, truth and hope to young people from all walks of life regardless of their race, faith, economic level, or cultural background.  Because of this rich history, YU is committed in helping the youth develop wholistically, both personally and spiritually, by providing caring people to whom the youth can turn to.  Building bridges to youth particularly in culturally diverse climates demands patience, commitment, carefully trained leadership, significant funding, prayer, and an ability to see the possible where most would see the impossible.

YU believes that they are strategically placed to tap into this unlimited potential of the youth.  By exposing this unlimited potential, we can begin to transform communities like Jane-Finch and beyond.   Therefore, YU will continue on with their mission to reach out to the youth of the GTA.  But, they cannot do it alone.  They need your support in fulfilling this mission.  The needs are many and the workers are few, but you can partner with YU to make an impact that will send ripple effects throughout the GTA.

Over a half a million young people reside in the GTA.  It is YU's vision that through strategic partnerships, alliances and through their own front-line endeavours, they will:

• help them attain their full life potential

Just as the neighbourhood brings definition and context to a young person’s growth, so Youth Unlimited’s community outreach initiatives bring a relational approach to journeying with youth within a defined geographical area. Our multi-faceted program activities are shaped in response to the needs and desires of the community and brought to life through the passions, skills and expertise of our people.

Mission

The dream of the YU North York team is an attainable one.  The dream is to see the youth that we serve experience God and His love.  To see the youth experience God's love as they create communities of hope is an amazing thing to see.  Hence, we see hope in individuals and communities characterized by wholeness, mentorship, service and opportunity.

Our Programs in the Jane-Finch Community Include:

Hoop 2 Hope Basketball – guiding boys through the journey of manhood through the sport of basketball.

Iron Fruits Fitness Mentoring – a program for teens/young men aiming to mentor, build relationships and accountability through physical fitness ...

Jane-Finch Community Development – an initiative focused on developing resident leaders from within the community to affect positive transformation in their neighbourhoods.  Furthermore, working alongside other YU programs in Jane Finch and other stakeholders in various forms to help address needs in a collaborative effort.

Seeds of Hope Summer Day Camp – a seven-week summer day camp for youth aged 6-13 that focuses on academic learning, spiritual teaching, sports, and arts.  Young campers get to experience day trips throughout the city and an enjoy an overnight camp in Muskoka.
